WHAT'S HAPPENING

In this time of coronavirus the NUJ has moved its courses online.

Ken Higgins is doing:

Filming & editing for iDevices             2 x 3 hour sessions

8th and 9th of September

This course for filming and editing for i-devices has been adapted for delivery using Zoom as the virtual classroom.  It shows how participants can improve the quality of their work in both sound and vision and how they can edit items ranging from simple clips to more complex news packages.

Those joining the course require to have either an i-device: any model of i-phone, i-pad or i-pod.  I-movies should be already installed on the device.   In addition delegates should have Zoom installed on a separate PC/Laptop/Tablet/Mac.  Delegates should provide their e-mail and mobile numbers for use by the tutor during the course.

I-devices must have at least 2Gb of free memory.  It would also be useful for the tutor to discuss, in private with individuals, any perceived issues or concerns prior to the course, in order to make this as bespoke as possible to those taking part.

Jean Rafferty is doing two courses

in September.

The first is in Feature Writing and is divided into two sessions of two hours each.

The first session, which covers Building a Feature and Structure, is at 10am on Tuesday 15th September.
The second is at 10am the following day, Wednesday 16th September, and covers Interviewing and Pitching.

The second is at 10am the following day, Wednesday 23rd September, and is about Agents, Are They Worth Their 15 Percent? and Publicising Your Book.

PILOT PROJECT

The M-Team are working with NUJ Training Scotland on an exciting new project.

Our mentors - Mark Fisher, Mike Higgins, Elaine Livingstone, and Jean Rafferty, will each be helping six NUJ members to make changes and move forward in their careers.

The project is funded by the STUC via the Scottish Government Fair Work initiative.

It will work in conjunction with a new digital platform being developed exclusively for NUJ members to match potential clients with freelances and to identify training opportunities for them.

COVID 19

The M Team are still available for mentoring and coaching during this time of Covid 19.

We are already working with people via online platforms.
